wIShinG tiME wOUld sLoW DowN a liTTle...
Can you believe ten days have gone by since our last blog...  How time flies, we are half way through 2011, and before you know it, the countdown will be on for Christmas! The days just keep running away so very very fast... Wish we could alter the dial to slow it down a little :)

At the moment the Blush and Blackbeary classes are in full swing and they are coming along just beautifully -- very soon we will have plenty of pictures for show and tell... And judging by what I have seen so far, they are going to be AMAZING...

Yesterday another box arrived all the way from Japan, full of sumptuous mohairs and alpacas in an array of colours, finishes and lengths. We just can't get enough of this yummy yummy fabric, everyone is just loving it.

Whilst I was drooling and unpacking , I spotted the most gorgeous baby pink mohair, which was complimented by a soft grey of the same type.  Mmmmmm I thought, that is nice -- and then it struck me -- I'm going to make a bear using these two fabrics and I'm going to name her PANDORA... and the idea was born!

Some of you may have seen the bear I made a couple of weeks ago for a friends birthday.  A friend, I might add, who has a very soft spot for anything Tiffany & Co.   The bear was made from my Pudd'n pattern, using a combination of aqua and white alpaca (the Tiffany colours).  I named her Tiffany, stitched a little Tiffany & Co heart charm to her bottom, and drizzled her with lots of bling.  I'm guessing now that TIFFANY and PANDORA are also going to be the best of friends once PANDORA jumps off the drawing board and into the realm of reality...  Keep watching for her photo in the upcoming week or so...

bLuSH iS cOMinG tO ToWN...

There's much excitement in the air as the Blush workshops are finally coming up later this month...  These workshops have been booked out way before the sample was even completed.   Just the thought of what was involved in making this gorgeous golly had everyone queuing up to do the workshop... a little bit of painting, embroidering, plus all of your bearmaking skills.

Well the sample of Blush is now in the shop, together with the most elaborate kits for her clothing -- 100% silk fabrics, vintage ribbons, petals, laces, threads and beads, handmade buttons...  You can see these delights for yourselves in the pictures below...

There has been such an uproar, that we have had to schedule another two workshops for later this year (end August/September) but you have to be quick if you want to make your very own Blush... as these spaces will fill very very fast!!!  Check out our website for full details  http://www.bearessence.com.au/a/Classes/Blush

thE ArRIvAl oF THe tINy sWeeTHearT tEds...

After a week of cold blistery weather, this morning a little ray of sunshine followed by a color filled rainbow entered our store... the tiny sweetheart teds.  The six of them; Miki, Emi, Suki, Miyo, Kaimu and Mika all the way from the U.K.

Their gorgeous smiling little faces and chubby cheeks warmed up the heart of anybody who saw them... What a sweet sweet delight!!!  We are so very lucky...  Thank you Tina for sharing your little critters with us -- your work is amazing.  I am sure they will all find homes in a blink of an eye, as they are SOOOOOO IRRESISTABLE!!!

a BiG wELcOme tO tHe NeWEst rEcrUIt tO ThE pROffEsIOnaL bEAr WorLD...

It is only a few weeks ago that one of our loyal customers/student approached us asking for some advice and guidance as she was eager to start the journey of designing her own bears and selling the patterns  and finished products...  We sat down and spent time encouraging her and steering her in the right direction.  A job we love doing as getting new blood into this industry is a big priority for us...

Charmaine went away on a mission, her head full of ideas...  and within a couple of weeks she was back with a sample of her new design plus the published pattern...  Go girl!!!
Her bear named  "Cuggles" and his little companion octopus "Squish" are simply delightful.  When Charmaine brought them in, we had a workshop happening -- and I think Charmaine was overwhelmed as the women stopped what they were doing to admire her bear.  Orders were being thrown at her for the pattern left, right and centre...

Congratulations Charmaine on a job well done... we are so very proud of you and are waiting with baited breath for your next design xx
